In a heartwarming display of community support, GoodWorks recently partnered with Girls Inc. Washington County to provide essential life-saving skills to young girls in Hagerstown. GoodWorks, known for its commitment to empowering communities, took the initiative to host a tailored workshop during one of Girls Inc.'s scheduled meetings. The workshop covered a range of critical topics, including CPR, opioid overdose response, harm reduction strategies, bleeding control techniques, and general public safety practices. 4 student volunteers from the Frostburg State University Physician Assistant Program University System of Maryland at Hagerstown came out to support. This collaboration was a testament to the power of community partnerships. It showcased the unwavering dedication of both organizations to equip young girls with the knowledge and skills they need to make informed decisions and be prepared for any situation they might encounter. This fun and engaging workshop serves as a shining example of how community organizations can come together to uplift and empower the youth in our society. While this partnership may have been a one-time event, its impact on the girls involved is bound to be long-lasting, giving them the tools they need to face the future with confidence and resilience.
